Hatching-Density in Density

The concept of landscape has been the subject of study and debate in the theory of art and architecture for centuries. It seems in an inevitable way the word landscape is related to others such as nature, context, environment. Also, we could say that the landscape exists because there is a vacuum, which allows the different elements that make it up to relate to each other, and because there is the observer, the man, to be able to perceive it. In the 21st century, the world population was of 7450 million people - 54% of whom already live in the city - we can say that the mankind has become an urban specie: the new natural environment of the human being, where they develop and survive, this is the urban environment. We understand therefore that the idea of landscape has also changed with it: for the individual of the 21st century, landscape is the city that perceives through the window of his apartment, the buildings cut out after the window of the bus, the scenario that accompanies in his transhumance. So, what does the theme "density in the landscape" imply? It suggests new ways of inhabiting the contemporary landscape, new relationships between the urbanite, the urban space and architecture. Rethink the traditional idea of city to ensure that, in the face of future population growth, it does not continue to extend indefinitely. In some cases, like Hong Kong, that will not even be possible. With these exercises we propose to occupy part of the gap released in height between the buildings of Hong Kong to create new connections and spaces, destroying the one-dimensional relationship of man with the city -only through the floor plan- and allowing us to generate, for example, a new network of urban spaces distributed by all the heights, invading buildings and multiplying the possibilities of the current city.
