Autonomy of the Public Void Under the Canopy

HSIEH Ying Chun

Covering the city with a great canopy, the microenvironment of the voids between high rises are altered and improved. Exterior walls and roofs begin to degenerate, blurring the line between inside and outside. When weather is no longer the major influence that defines the boundary, the voids become habitable public spaces that are freely utilized with autonomous building by the common citizens.
