Building Public Housing with No Land
LUI Kent 呂文聰
Searching for land to build public housing became the hottest topic. This scheme is a highly practical yet out of the box solution. Located in the offshore low-lying area with minimum impact to the environment.
Set 10000 housing units as a basic module. Use a mega arch structure to support the public housing rising above the sea. 6 floors as one zone and 3 zones as maximum height. 100 to 200 housing units become a village.
Each floor, zone and village are designed as a highly liveable space to cater for different cultures and user preferences. To create a more humanised and user-friendly city district.
Civic facilities such as schools and hospitals will be located on top of the housing units.
The overall roof area will be dedicated as sky garden for recreational use. To improve the insulation of the building and promote vertical farming.
Using prefabricated construction method,
It is possible to provide vast amount of housing units for the general public
This scheme transforms the social problem into a driving force for the city’s revitalization.
